what is aau? and why is it right for my child?

Sean thoroughly embraced the opportunity to compete against some of the best athletes in the USA and learn. We are so isolated here in Australia and tours such as these are enormously valuable.

AUSA Hoops have the experience and knowledge among their administration and coaches to ensure not only that their teams will be showcased at tournaments that matter but also provide honest and realistic feedback about your expectations.

The staff went above and beyond what we would have expected. The attention to detail that AUSA demonstrates during the planning of their tours is second to none.

what is aau?

It is where college recruiting happens.

AAU basketball is the testing ground for all US high school players. At any given tournament there could be anywhere from 100 to 1,500 college coaches scouting for their next players. This is what makes the tournaments so valuable. They are a platform to prove you belong at the next level.

Playing AAU is the most ideal way for an Aussie player to get exposure to college basketball scouts. For a college coach, when Aussies play AAU they can evaluate you as a foreign player in an environment that they understand. For a coach, there is nothing like seeing a player perform live on the court to evaluate their talent.

Finally, if you aren’t sure if college is for you, AAU can be a phenomenal way to experience lots of games against American competition for your own experience and development. Nothing here is easy, everyone is hustling, and inevitably each player will deal with adversity at some point and must learn to grow from it.

THE BEST PLATFORM TO COMPETE FOR A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Everything we do on our tour focuses on giving our players the best opportunity to achieve their college basketball dreams. Simply put, the best way for American coaches to evaluate a player is by seeing them play against American players. By playing and competing in high-level AAU Tournaments against talented American players, we are providing the best platform available for Aussie players to prove they have what it takes to earn a US college scholarship.

Since 2014, we’ve been creating opportunities for Aussies to get recruited. We have helped 100+ players land US opportunities. Check out our alumni list here.

COACHING AND MENTORSHIP

When players sign up to come on our tour, they put themselves out there and say “I want to pursue this dream I have of playing college basketball'“. And playing college basketball is hard. Chasing your dreams is even harder.

We make a concerted effort to make sure that our players have the support they need as they face the challenges that come with chasing their dreams. As much as we focus on providing a platform for college recruiting success, we provide a support system for personal growth. We work to teach our players the work ethic, accountability and consistency required to be a success in basketball (and in any pursuit).

Expect to face physical, mental and emotional challenges on the tour.

Key Outcomes include:

  • An understanding of the talent level in college basketball

  • An understanding of where you fit into the college basketball landscape

  • Experience with film evaluation and scouting reports
