Hope everyone’s NCAA Tournament brackets are looking better than mine, let’s get into The Week in Hoops!

Who’s making noise in the US?

This week we check in with Kieran Hayward in his redshirt-sophomore year at the University of Massachusetts.

Kieran has had a real basketball journey from LSU to UMass. This year he has been redshirting due to transferring from LSU last year, but his team is lining up to be a contender in the A-10 next year.

He’s got one of the best high school highlight tapes you will see from an Aussie showing off his high flying antics.

While in high school, Kieran was never selected in a state team until top age U20s, but shook up the AAU scene in 2015.

 Inspirational video we love:

Stumbled across this beauty when I was watching some old videos of Tim Hardaway, any guard looking to expand their arsenal or even just improve technique should go ahead and check out this video.

Who’s next..? A name to know:

Hops, bunnies, turbo boosters, or bounce, whatever you call it, Henry Makeny can seriously jump. Henry played AAU with us in July 2016 and is in his junior year of high school at Blair Academy, the same school which graduated Luol Deng, Charlie Villanueva, and Royal Ivey.

Henry is a gifted talent from the Western Suburbs of Sydney who’s club, Savannah Pride, is beautifully represented in this New York Times piece. Henry has one more year of high school in New Jersey where he is hoping to take full advantage of his basketball potential.

Hopefully, we will be seeing Henry on NBA2k where they may have to actually increase the settings to fully show how high this young man can jump!
