Where are you located?

We currently have two venues.

1. North Sydney (at SHORE School)
2. Hornsby (at Asquith Girl’s High School)

In July we will launch 3 new locations in Sydney’s East, Inner West, and Adelaide.

How old do I have to be to join AUSA?

We have sessions for players who are as young as 8 years old.

  • Rookies (8-12 yr old)
  • Emerging (13-15 yr old)
  • Development (16-18 yr old)
Can girls get an AUSA Membership?

Yes! Girls are able to attend any of the sessions available. We also offer some Girls Only Classes at various venues.

What happens if I get injured?

If you get injured, you can put your membership on hold, but there are some terms you need to be aware of.

Your membership may be suspended for 2 or more consecutive whole fortnightly billing periods (ie a minimum of 4 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks) and cannot be put on hold for only a part of a fortnight.

Simply let us know by email at least 3 days before your direct debit date. You will not be able to attend any sessions when your membership is suspended and you will need to pay the suspension fee of $5 per week. A suspension of your membership will also suspend the calculation of your initial commitment period.

Alternatively, if you are injured for an extended period, you may choose to cancel your membership.

Can I put my membership on hold?
Yes, you can, but there are some limitations. You must put your membership on hold for a minimum of 4 weeks. During this period, you will only pay $5 per week. Over the course of your annual membership, you can only have your membership on hold for a total of 12 weeks.
Are individual sessions available?

Yes, individual sessions are available at most of our locations.

You can sign up for these sessions online, here. Individual sessions are $120 for non-members, $100 for members, and $80 for membership who buy 10 or more sessions.

When my membership ends, what happens?
When your Initial Commitment Period ends, your contract will automatically roll over. You will not have to pay the activation fee again.
Do I pay my activation fee once, or every year?

No, you only need to pay an activation fee once if you let your membership roll over after your Initial Commitment Period ends.

If you decide to cancel your membership at any time, you will need to pay the activation fee if you decide to re-join AUSA.

If you transfer directly from a flexible to long-term membership, you will not need to pay the activation fee for the long-term membership

When am I billed?
You are billed fortnightly from the day you become a member. This membership fee is paid in advance for the upcoming two weeks of classes.
If I have queries about my membership, who should I talk to?
Please call 1800 247 328 and we can chat through any issues that you may have.

FAQ: Classes

When are the classes? Will the schedule change?

Classes are available at a minimum once a week. Certain venues have more availability. The classes are available throughout the public school calendar.

During the school holidays, membership fees are still due, but you receive 50% off all holiday camps and clinics, which is a huge saving. We guarantee we will have at least one holiday camp and clinic at all our venues.

The day, time and type of session may change, but we will give you fair notice of any change in scheduling.

As more players register for memberships at certain locations, we will be able to expand the number of nights we are available to offer more specific classes across more nights.

What happens if my schedule stops me from attending any sessions for a whole school term?

Not to worry, you have a couple options!

  • You can always attend sessions (that are on a different day/time) at a different venue.
  • You can put your membership on hold (but be aware that terms apply to this).
  • You can wait until the school holidays, as all members get 50% off all camps and clinics in the holidays.
Can I bring a friend to a class?
Currently we have decided to only offer classes to registered members. If your friend wants to try out AUSA they could start with a flexible membership, attend a clinic or a holiday camp.

Do I need to bring my own basketball?
Yes, please bring your own basketball.

Our coaches will have a few spare basketballs if you happen to forget yours, but we rely on our players bringing a ball to the class they are participating in.

How many people are in the classes?

The number of players in each class varies by venue (and by the number of rims we have on a court at that venue). The capacity will be anywhere from 20-32 players. At all sessions we have two coaches and our drills are designed to ensure all players are actively involved in the entire session. As we grow out our programs, we will determine what the capacity is to ensure every player has a great workout.

When can I register for classes?
To make sure people don’t register for classes and don’t show up, you can only register for classes one month in advance. The booking process is beautifully simple using our app.

Can I practice at other venues that aren't my Home Venue?
Yes, you are allowed to visit other venues that aren’t your home venue.

It is important to us that every player with a membership is able to attend classes when they are available, and if people are changing their venue too often, it becomes challenging for us to predict the number of players in each class.

AUSA Hoops members can use any AUSA Training Venue in Australia free of charge so long as members use their home venue more than their away venue. Where a member is using their away venue more than their home venue we’ll ask the member to transfer to that other venue. A transfer fee will apply.

What happens in the school holidays?

Classes at our venues run on the public school calendar. During the school terms, classes are available, and during the school holidays there will be a youth camp and a skills clinic available at that venue. Members will receive a 50% discount to all holiday camps and clinics.

During the summer holiday period, we will offer a youth camp and skills clinic along with other activities.

Do I have to register for classes every week?
Yes, you do need to register for classes every week. By downloading our app, you will be able to register for classes in a matter of seconds. Classes are available for registration 30 days before the class. We do this to ensure people are attending classes they are registering for.

What do I have to wear to the classes?
Every player will receive an AUSA training singlet upon registering for a membership. It is strongly encouraged that players wear these singlets while they are in a class.

Is there a limit to the number of classes I can do each week?
The beauty of an AUSA Membership is that players who want more training are able to get as much as they need. You can attend as many sessions as you want as long as you abide by the Home & Away Venue requirements.

Can I get to my classes early?
Our classes run back-to-back every hour and there is not access to shoot around prior to a class beginning. Classes will start promptly. Please be ready to go with your shoes on when the class is due to begin. Coaches will begin every class with a warm up.

What is the general skill level of the classes?

There is a wide range of skill levels, but we have built in some coaching processes to ensure every player is able to get the most out of every class. Classes have multiple coaches that allow us to split into smaller groups inside of a class.

If your child has grown early, or has played basketball for a long time, we may offer the opportunity to attend a class in the age group above.

Do you pay weekly fees during the holiday period?

Yes, you still continue to pay your weekly membership dues throughout the school holiday periods, but you get 50% off all holiday camps and clinics!

What happens if the classes fill up and I can't register?

Our goal is to limit the number of memberships available at each venue given the court availability we have there.

We will ensure that we have the capacity for every member to attend a minimum of one class a week.

Can I do more than one session each night?

When we offer non-age specific classes, there will be opportunities for players to do multiple sessions in a night.

What happens on public holidays?

Because most venues are not available for use on public holidays, we unfortunately will not run sessions on public holidays.

FAQ: Membership Cancellations

Can I cancel my membership?
Yes, but there is a cancellation fee associated with cancelling your membership. This cancellation fee is outlined in the terms and conditions you agreed to on signing up to your membership.
Can I put my membership on hold?
Yes, you can put your membership on hold, but there are some terms you need to be aware of.

What happens if I don't pay my membership dues?

If you have not paid your membership fees for the previous fortnight, you will not be able to attend any classes.

We will collect any membership dues and fees (including any applicable Early Termination Fee) that are outstanding if your membership dues are not paid for an extended period of time. We may use a third party to assist in the collection of outstanding fees.

Can I transfer my membership to another person? Or another family member?
Unfortunately you are unable to transfer your membership to another person, regardless of the situation that may apply. Each membership is specifically for one individual.

FAQ: Training

How old do I have to be to join AUSA?
We have classes for players starting at 8 years old.
How quickly will I see results?
Every player is unique and has a different rate of improvement. Some players gradually improve over time, others improve very quickly and then plateau for extended periods.

As a general rule, more practice over an extended period of time is the path to success. Don’t expect one individual session to solve all your problems and turn you into Steph Curry. Those who are dedicated over a long period will have the most success.

What do I get in terms of Camps and Clinics?

Every AUSA member gets 50% off all holiday camps and clinics and all seminars and other clinics that are held throughout the school term. Non-members are still able to attend our holiday camps and clinics but will pay the full price ($190 for camps, $150 for clinics).

We guarantee we will have a minimum of one holiday camp and clinic at each location each holidays.
